EBG Helicopters is a CAA-approved helicopter training organisation (ATO ref 0242) based in Hangar 6 at Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey, conveniently placed between Gatwick and Heathrow. The company has traded since 1999 and has offered flight training for over twenty years, alongside sightseeing tours, charter and a separate sales and maintenance arm. Students can progress from a 20-minute Discovery trial flight in the Robinson R22 through to the PPL(H), which requires a minimum of 45 hours including 10 solo, and on to the CPL(H) for those aiming at a professional career. Training is one-to-one in a dual-control fleet of Cabri G2, Robinson R22 and Robinson R44 helicopters, with turbine aircraft used on the commercial course. The school also runs type rating courses on aircraft including the EC120, Bell 206 JetRanger and AS350. It is open seven days a week subject to availability, offers reduced hour-building rates to eligible pilots, and provides help with accommodation for international students.
