Sand Air has operated from Rotterdam The Hague Airport for more than 35 years, training pilots towards the LAPL and PPL brevet alongside trial lessons for newcomers to flying. The school's training fleet comprises four Cessna 172s and a Tecnam P2010, with a separate Cessna 172 and an Aviat Husky kept aside for its aerial-advertising work. Alongside flight training, Sand Air holds Dutch AOC 060, SPO 13 and DTO-025 approvals and says it is the only operator at Rotterdam The Hague Airport permitted to run sightseeing flights, which it also offers as proposal flights and scenic tours over the city. A 45-minute trial lesson in the Cessna 172 is advertised from 438 EUR, rising to 599 EUR for an hour in the Tecnam 2010, giving prospective students a taste of flying before committing to a full LAPL or PPL course.
