    About Aeroclub Barcelona-Sabadell

L'Aeroclub Barcelona-Sabadell is a flying club based at Sabadell Airport (QSA) on the Carretera de Bellaterra, just outside Barcelona. Founded in 1953, it describes itself as the largest aeroclub in Europe, with more than 1,200 active members and a fleet of over 50 aircraft spanning aeroplanes, helicopters, gliders and ultralights. It also operates a second site at the Cerdanya aerodrome in the Pyrenees. Training on offer includes the PPL(A) on single-engine types such as the Tecnam P92 and P2008, Cessna 152 and 172 and Pipistrel Explorer, and the PPL(H) on Robinson R22 or R44 helicopters. Both follow a 45-hour flying syllabus alongside the theory phase, and the club also runs introductory flights, an ultralight pilot course and gliding courses. Aspiring professionals can continue to CPL and ATPL study through its Barcelona Flight School, with integrated and modular routes. Members can also add aerobatic or mountain flying, multi-engine and instrument ratings, and the club tradition of an annual New Year's Eve "Vuelo del Alba" to Cerdanya gives it a distinctly Catalan flavour.
