Aviation Academy Austria is a professional pilot academy whose flight training operates from Wiener Neustadt East airfield (LOAN), roughly 30 kilometres south of Vienna, with its headquarters and main training centre at Neusiedl am See in Burgenland. The academy is built around airline-oriented training: an integrated ATPL course for students starting with no previous flying experience, and an ATPL route for those who already hold a PPL. Wiener Neustadt is the home of Diamond Aircraft, and the school trains on that manufacturer's types — the two-seat DV20, the DA40 as an IFR trainer and the DA42 light twin — all fitted with glass-cockpit avionics. The Neusiedl am See centre houses full-flight simulators used for type and recurrent training on aircraft including the ATR 42 and 72, the Cessna Citation 525 and 560XLS, and the Bombardier Challenger.
