About Gamston Flying School
Gamston Flying School is a flight training organisation based at Retford (Gamston) Airport in Nottinghamshire, sitting just off the A1 and within about an hour of Doncaster, Sheffield, Nottingham, Newark and Lincoln. It started in late 2010 with two aircraft teaching the Private Pilot Licence and the Night Rating. The school now manages a fleet of around ten aeroplanes, including Cessna 152s and Piper PA-28s, with access to further types when a course calls for them. Alongside the PPL it teaches the Flight Radiotelephony Operator Licence, Night and Aerobatic Ratings, the restricted instrument rating (IR(R)/IMC), the Multi-Engine Piston Rating and competency-based Instrument Ratings, and runs professional courses up to the Commercial Pilot Licence and the Flight Instructor Certificate. Qualified pilots can also hire the fleet.
