    About Hotel Bravo Flying Club

Hotel Bravo Flying Club is a not-for-profit members' club based at Weston Airport near Lucan, County Dublin, and a Declared Training Organisation approved by the Irish Aviation Authority. Founded in 1982, it has operated about six aircraft over the years, from the original Rallye EI-BHB — the 'Hotel Bravo' that gave the club its name — to today's Cessna 172N, EI-CUJ, equipped for both VFR and IFR with Garmin 430 and 530 units and hangared at Weston. Training covers the PPL and the Light Aircraft Pilot's Licence, alongside night ratings and Single Engine Piston revalidations and renewals for existing licence holders. Chief Flying Instructor Paul Van Lonkhuyzen, a retired airline captain and IAA examiner, leads a team of six instructors who fly for the club on a voluntary basis and between them hold more than 50,000 flight hours. With roughly 25 members and an approved list of some 30 Irish airfields open to qualified members, the club is deliberately small; it has at times paused new student intakes and introductory flights, so current availability is worth checking.
