Airbourne Aviation is a flight school based at Popham Airfield in Hampshire, near Winchester, which describes itself as England's longest-running flight school, with more than 40 years of helping students towards their wings. It is registered with the UK Civil Aviation Authority as a declared training organisation and changed hands in 2025, when the sale to British Young Pilots founder Patrick Tame was completed. Training centres on the NPPL(A) Microlight, flown initially in the Comco Ikarus C42, a two-seat, three-axis microlight, with a conversion route from the NPPL(A) to the SSEA class rating for those who want to step up to a Piper PA28-180 Cherokee. The school also runs trial lessons, tailwheel conversions and its own approved C42 flight simulator, and has introduced the Pipistrel Velis Electro, a type-certified electric trainer. Instructor-led C42 flying is advertised at around 190 pounds per hour including VAT.
