Malmi Aviation Club (Malmin Ilmailukerho) runs a flight school from Malmi Airport in Helsinki, where its club room is based. Practical flying is done from Nummela Airfield (EFNU) in Vihti, using Diamond aircraft: the DV20 (OH-IHQ) as the main trainer and the DA40 NG (OH-STL), which is used for heavier students. The club teaches the LAPL(A), with a minimum of 30 flight hours, and the PPL(A), with a minimum of 45 hours and basic instrument training built in. It also offers a LAPL-to-PPL bridge course, an SEP(land) and TMG class rating conversion, and the NF(A) night rating. Theory is taught as a distance course that must be paid for before starting, while flying is paid for as you fly, at published hourly rates for aircraft and instruction.
