Southend Flying Club is a long-established flying school based at London Southend Airport, offering a structured route from first lesson through to private pilot qualification and beyond. The club notes roots going back to the 1930s, and positions itself around a dedicated team of professional staff and pilots. For new pilots, the club offers training for the PPL, following a clearly defined syllabus that builds from early handling exercises and circuits through to navigation and skills test preparation. Introductory trial lessons are also available. Beyond the first licence, it provides progression options including the Night Rating, IMC / IR(R), and RT Operator's Licence training, plus a Flight Instructor course. A further strength is on-site testing and continuity support, with resident examiner capability for several renewals, revalidations and tests.
