    About West London Aero Club

West London Aero Club is based at White Waltham Airfield near Maidenhead, Berkshire, a site of about 200 acres described as reputedly the largest grass airfield in Britain. The land was acquired by the de Havilland family in 1928, the de Havilland School of Flying opened there in 1935, and the airfield was the headquarters of the Air Transport Auxiliary during the Second World War. The club teaches the UK PPL on Piper Warriors, and also offers Instrument Rating (Restricted), tailwheel rating, flying instructor courses, a safety pilot course, groundschool and PPL ground exams, alongside trial lessons. Its fleet is listed as two Piper Arrows, eleven Piper Warriors, two Super Cubs and a Tiger Moth, with Chipmunk, Pitts Special, Extra 330 and Harvard experience flights also available. Prior permission is required before visiting.
