Astonfly is an EASA-approved, Qualiopi-certified training organisation whose campus sits at Paris-Saclay-Versailles airport at Toussus-le-Noble, about twenty minutes from Paris. Founded in 2004 by Charles Clair, it has since trained more than 2,000 airline pilots. The school trains exclusively for the airline path, through a 24-month integrated ATP course taught entirely in English. Students follow it either as the Ryanair Future Flyer Academy programme — Astonfly is Ryanair's exclusive partner in France, and cadets hold a conditional job offer before training begins — or as the Multi Airlines programme aimed at a wider set of carriers. The fleet is deliberately uniform: 24 aircraft split between the single-engine Cessna 172S and the twin Diamond DA42, all on Garmin G1000 avionics, supported by five simulators. Flying is taught in pairs, one student at the controls while the other observes from the back seat.
