About Haverfordwest Flight Centre (Fly Wales)

Haverfordwest Flight Centre, trading as Fly Wales, trains private pilots from Haverfordwest Aerodrome at Withybush in Pembrokeshire. The school offers the Private Pilot Licence and the National Pilot Licence, as well as flight experiences for anyone who wants to try the controls before committing to a course. Training is flown in a Cessna fleet that includes the Cessna 150, Cessna 172 and 172 XP. The PPL syllabus requires a minimum of 40 hours of flight training, including at least 10 hours of supervised solo flying and a cross-country of 150 nautical miles or more with landings at two aerodromes. Students sit the nine theoretical knowledge exams using the school's in-house exam facilities and classroom teaching, backed by an online ground school platform. Lessons run Monday to Friday from set slots through the day, and the aerodrome charges no landing or touch-and-go fees, which keeps circuit practice cheaper. Aircraft hire is also available to qualified pilots.
