Horizon Swiss Flight Academy operates from Steinackerstrasse in Kloten, a few minutes from Zurich Airport. It is an Approved Training Organisation (CH.ATO.0146) and an approved Part-147 maintenance training and examination organisation certified by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation. Founded in Grenchen in 1979, it relocated to Kloten in 2006. Aeroplane courses run from the PPL(A) through CPL, multi-engine piston, instrument rating, MCC and jet orientation to the full ATPL, with helicopter licences taught in parallel. Its Airline Cadet Programme to frozen ATPL is run with Helvetic Airways, part of the same group, and with easyJet Switzerland. Much of the practical single-engine flying is delivered through partner schools across the country, among them Grenchen, Bern-Belp, Basel, Mollis, Buttwil and Lugano, while theory can be studied remotely on the academy's E-Learning Campus.
