    About London Transport Flying Club

London Transport Flying Club is a member led flying club based at Fairoaks Airport in Surrey. Founded in 1931 by London Transport busmen, it has a long history and still puts community at the centre of what it does, aiming to make private flying accessible and sociable. Although it describes itself as a flying club rather than a conventional flying school, it offers structured training towards the CAA Private Pilot Licence and the Light Aircraft Pilot Licence, with an in house examiner available. Training and club flying is centred on a small fleet of Piper PA-28 aircraft, managed through an online booking system. A standout part of the experience is the WWII era clubhouse by the taxiway with views across the airfield. The club also offers a social membership option.
