Motorfluggruppe Wilhelmshaven-Friesland is a flying club and approved training organisation based at JadeWeserAirport in Sande, close to Wilhelmshaven in Lower Saxony, Germany. It describes itself as one of the largest air sports clubs in the north-west of the state, offering club-style flight training at what it calls a professional standard for an affordable price. Training for the PPL(A) and LAPL(A) is flown mainly on the two-seat Aquila A211G, with the four-seat Cessna F172 as an alternative. The club's fleet of five aircraft also includes two Piper PA-28 Archers and a Tecnam P2010, and seven instructors teach in a relaxed, friendly style. The PPL course is built around the 45-hour minimum and the LAPL around 30 hours, with around 120 hours of theory instruction, usually completed over four to five months of evenings and weekends. Students join as club members, and the club quotes an overall PPL budget of roughly €12,000 to €15,000 and €9,000 to €10,000 for the LAPL. Younger members can join the club's youth group at special rates.
