Aéropyrénées was founded in 1970 at Perpignan Airport and describes itself as the first professional private-sector flight school in France. Over more than 50 years it has grown into a multi-site operation with centres at Perpignan, Toussus-le-Noble near Paris, Valence and Rennes, plus overseas bases at Thiès in Senegal and on La Réunion. The school runs a fleet of 46 single- and twin-engine aircraft equipped with everything from traditional instruments to Garmin G5 and GNS 430/650 avionics, backed by its own Part 145 maintenance facility (FR.145.0615). Training spans PPL, CPL, modular and Integrated ATPL, IR, MEP, MCC, FI(A) instructor ratings, UPRT and hour building, with over 392,000 flight hours delivered since founding and a 97% pass rate reported in 2025, when the school logged more than 840 training actions and 7,000 flight hours.
