Advanced Flight Training is based at Sherburn-in-Elmet Aerodrome (EGCJ), near Leeds in Yorkshire. It was established in 2007 and sits on an active GA airfield. For new pilots it offers the Private Pilot Licence (PPL), structured as 45 hours total with dual and solo flying, nine theory exams and a skills test. For pilots building capability after the PPL it offers the Night Rating and IR(R), plus hour building packages. For a commercial pathway it offers the CPL, Multi-Engine Piston training and the Instrument Rating, plus Flight Instructor (FI) training. It uses its own aircraft and also has access to the Sherburn Aero Club fleet, including PA-28 aircraft and a Robin used for FI courses, with local maintenance through Sherburn Engineering.
