Copenhagen AirTaxi (CAT) was founded in 1961 at Skovlunde and now operates from Copenhagen Airport Roskilde (EKRK) at Lufthavnsvej 34-38. It describes itself as Denmark's oldest general-aviation company and the Danish flight school that has put the most pilots on the wings, running roughly 25 aeroplanes and helicopters with close to 50 staff across training, air taxi, scheduled island flights, aircraft management and Part-145 maintenance. Training covers both aeroplanes and helicopters: PPL(A), LAPL(A) and PPL(H), an integrated ATP(A) course with an entrance test in English, maths and logic, a modular CPL(A) route, an integrated CPL(H), CB-IR and EIR instrument ratings, night qualifications, a multi-engine VFR rating, FI ratings for aeroplane and helicopter, MCC-JOC, an R44 type rating and a Boeing 737NG type rating. Theory is taught on day and evening classes or online, with ATPL available by distance learning. Unusually, CAT includes a PPL within its commercial course so students can fly with friends and family during training. The single-engine fleet includes Socata TB9 Tampico, TB10 Tobago and TB20 Trinidad plus the Cessna 172, with a Partenavia P68 for multi-engine IFR work and Diamond DA42 and Redbird FMX FNPT II simulators; aircraft and simulators can also be hired by licensed pilots, and trial lessons are offered in both aeroplanes and helicopters.
