About Accademia del Volo

Accademia del Volo is an ENAC-approved flight training organisation based inside San Francesco d'Assisi International Airport at Sant'Egidio, just outside Perugia in Umbria. It trains pilots for the LAPL(A), PPL(A) and CPL(A), and offers modular ATPL theory as well as an ATPL theory, CPL, IR and multi-engine route. The PPL syllabus is set at a minimum of 45 flight hours, 35 dual and 10 solo, alongside 100 hours of theory lessons. Ratings on offer include VFR night rating, instrument rating and renewals, SEP and MEP, plus flight instructor (FI) and instrument rating instructor (IRI) courses. Flying is done on a fleet of Piper PA-34 Seneca V twins, Piper PA-28 Arrows and Tecnam P2008s, with an ALSIM ALX simulator for procedural work. The airport runway supports day, night, instrument and visual training, and the school notes that its instructors have civil and military flying backgrounds. A financing programme with Intesa Sanpaolo is available for professional flight courses.
