Derby Aero Club & Flying School operates from Derby Airfield (EGBD) at Egginton, a few miles south-west of Derby. It is a family-run setup where the same business runs the airfield, the flying school, and the maintenance side. The airfield is a licensed grass aerodrome with three runways. The main route is the PPL(A); the nine theory subjects are covered and exams are sat online at the club, which also offers RT training and testing. After the first licence there are next step options including IR(R) and tailwheel differences training in its Cessna 140. The fleet includes Cessna 152 and 172 aircraft, plus the Cessna 140 and a Beagle Pup.
