Leicestershire Aero Club is based at Leicester Airport (EGBG), about three miles from Leicester city centre. It has been part of the local flying scene since 1909. It runs as a private members club, so training sits alongside normal club flying, aircraft hire, and day-to-day airfield activity. The flight school offers Private Pilot Licence training and the NPPL route, plus short flying lessons and try flying flights. Training commonly starts in a two-seat Cessna 152, with a move to a four-seat type available. After the first licence, the school offers add-on training including the Night Rating, IR(R), aerobatic training and the aerobatic rating, tailwheel differences training, and a Flying Companion course. There is a clubhouse bar and kitchen, social nights and events.
