Micro Aviation operates from Darley Moor Airfield near Ashbourne in Derbyshire, styling itself "the home of all things microlight". Training is delivered under BMAA oversight for the National Private Pilot Licence (Microlight), covering both closed-cockpit, three-axis fixed-wing microlights and open-cockpit flexwing trikes, with routes also available for sub-70kg and Single Seat De-Regulation (SSDR) aircraft, including cross-credit for pilots already holding hang-glider or paraglider power ratings. Ground school runs alongside flight training, working through meteorology, navigation, aviation law, human factors and aircraft technical subjects, taught as a mix of face-to-face and online sessions, with a dedicated ground school typically scheduled towards the end of the year. Beyond initial training, the school offers biennial revalidation, trial flights and its own aircraft maintenance and valeting services from its Derbyshire base.
